Carlos Severe Marcelin "... truly brilliant" writes SP Clarke about this award winning American composer, producer and guitarist. Musically, Carlos is a sonic explorer who has forged his own unique path in the music and film industries. Intermingling symphonic with electronic and acoustic mediums, his use of dissonance and dramatic harmonies alternates with playful consonance. Just when you’re settling into a comfortable bed of musical fabric woven from lush aural textures, industrial percussion may sneak in, or more than a surpise-worth of unexpected twists may come into play. Carlos Severe Marcelin's music leaves an indelible expression on the ear of the listener.

A Music Composition and Theory student at Tulane University in New Orleans, Lousiana, Carlos studied under Polish Composer Barbara Jazwinski. A long and ongoing history in rock bands has also contributed to his style, as it crosses genre between the symphonic, the ancient, the modern and the surreal. He has created musical scores for "Sally Tomato's Toy Room", worked on the bicycle documentary "Veer" (narrated by Matthew Modine) and has 7 albums to his credit as well as numerous unpublished symphonic pieces. Carlos performed with New Orleans based sextet Silkenseed and currently plays with Portland, Oregon trio Sally Tomato in addition to performing his works in solo format and with his lifelong drummer, Eric Flint, in the instrumental duo Pidgin.

A tireless creative force permeates his film projects as much as his musical works.

Carlos has many songs and enjoys many styles. They spill into different musical incarnations. His work as a co-writer and producer on the award winning rock opera Toy Room as well as his production of several shorts shows Carlos' prowess on the production front as well. Current projects include the film circuit rounds for "Toy Room" and writing music for the upcoming multimedia exhibit "TED" and the song cycle "Planets" to be performed by the instrumental duo Pidgin.
